Booklet helps you learn more about historic Mac

Do you like Mac? Do you want to know more it? According to the McMinnville N-R/News-Register, in November 2015, the Downtown Association of McMinnville introduced “Stroll Historic McMinnville” a 38-page booklet. Funded by a state of Oregon Historical Preservation Office grant, the booklet is based on seven months of research by the association's Rebecca Quandt. There's an accompanying web site, historicmac.com

Two Yamhill County newspapers on the rack

Yamhill County newspapers include McMinnville N-R/News-Register and Newberg Graphic. Both may be bought from a coin-op rack outside county courthouse in downtown McMinnville.

What’s wrong with this scarecrow?

The McMinnville News-Register quit home delivery of the N-R in fall 2012. (Last home-delivered N-R was Oct. 31, 2011. First delivered by US Mail N-R was Nov. 2, 2012.) While signage with N-R scarecrow “Bart” says he’s the “friendly News-Register paperboy of yesteryear,” amusing a newspaper that axed home delivery has a display which recalls what it no longer offers.
