A McMinnville resident, who was a Linfield student 1966-1970, recalls going to the Mack movie theater in downtown McMinnville to see the 1968 movie, "Bullitt," starting Steve McQueen. Prior to the movie, commercials were shown, including one for Pepsi soda pop. At that time "Taste The Beats The Others Cold" was the Pepsi jingle. The resident was impressed that audience members sang along with the jingle:

Pepsi's got that special taste created for the cold
The cold turns on that Pepsi drive; makes Pepsi-Cola come alive
