McMinnville has Filbert Street Southwest. These photos were taken in December 2010 at the corner of Filbert Street SW and 2nd Street NW. Hazelnuts (also called filberts) are said to grow on filbert trees. Oregon is the state hich produces the most filberts. According to 1999 information, "Yamhill County produces 9930 tons or 21.6% of the state's total." Oregon leads the nation in filbert growing. Springfield (Lane County) has or used to hold a summer filbert festival.
